KENT, Ohio – The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Kent State University Tune-Up Mini-Meet on Friday.
For the women, junior Megan Parker (Mercer, PA / Mercer Area) highlighted the day as she set a new school-record in the indoor shot put and indoor weight throw. Parker's mark of 14.25 meters was good enough for 10th place in the event and broke the previous school-record mark of 13.17 meters set back in 2015. Her shot put mark of 11.57 meters also placed 10th and broke the previous school-record of 11.55 meters set in 2012.
In other action, sophomore Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) improved her mark on the NCAA list in the pole vault with a leap of 3.72 meters to finish runner-up in the event. First-year Emma Rudolph (Santa Clarita, CA / Golden Valley) also moved up on the NCAA list in the pole vault with a mark of 3.57 meters to finish tied for fourth. In the 800 meter run, junior Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) returned to action with a runner-up finish in the 52-runner field with a time of 2:17.34. Sophomore Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) also compete in the event, crossing with a time of 2:24.74 to finish 11th. In the 400 meter dash, senior Maura Belding (Columbiana, OH / Crestview) earned a 15th-place finish with a time of 1:02.76.
For the men, sophomore Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) highlighted the day with a sixth place finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.03. Senior Bryce Hill (Boynton Beach, FL / Boca Raton Community) finished 18th in the event with a time of 7.24. Sams also placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.36, while freshman Ryan Beard (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) placed 18th with a time of 23.09. In the 400 meter dash, senior Cole Kesiter (Edinburg, PA / Union Area) earned a 22nd place mark of 52.08. Sophomore Jonathan Micsky (Greenville, PA / Greenville) had the best mark in the pole vault with a leap of 3.95 meters to finish sixth. In the 60 meter hurdles, junior Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) crossed in 14th place with a time of 9.09.
The Titans will be back in action on Thursday, February 27 for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships at Youngstown State University.
