OBERLIN, Ohio – The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Oberlin College Mini-Meet on Friday.
For the women, sophomore Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) highlighted the day with a victory in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.53, while senior Maura Belding (Columbiana, OH / Crestview) placed second with a time of 1:03.37. Moore also placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.45. In the 60 meter dash, junior Natalie Schwarz (Hudson, OH / Hudson) led the way with a time of 8.79 to finish second. In the 4x400 meter relay, Belding and Schwarz teamed with first-years' Hannah Knoll (Karns City, PA / Karns City) and Jenna Rady (Leechburg, PA / Leechburg Area) to finish in second place with a time of 4:32.31.
For the men, the day was highlighted by three individual victories in the 60 meter dash, the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash. Sophomore Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) claimed a victory in the 60 meter with a career-best time of 6.99, while also winning the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.98. Freshman Ryan Beard (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) finished second in the 200 with a time of 23.39. In the 400 meter dash, senior Cole Keister (Edinburg, PA / Union Area) won the event with a time of 52.73. Kesiter also finished second in the 60 meter hurdles with a career-best time of 9.41. In the long jump, freshman Dale Sizemore (Irving, TX / Ranchview) earned a second-place finish with a career-best mark of 5.99 meters.
The Titans will be back in action tomorrow when the pole vaulters compete in the Mount Union Jim Wuske Invite.
