BRADFORD, Pa. (Titan Athletics)– The Westminster College men’s golf team opened the season at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational on Saturday afternoon at The Pennhills Club.

Westminster fielded two teams, with Team A shooting a combined score of 313 and Team B totaling a score of 323, good for third- and seventh-place, respectively in the 15-team field.

Freshman Mark Moran (Silver Springs, MD / Washington Christian Academy), playing for Westminster’s B-team, finished tied for second in the field of 79 players, as he posted a two-over-par round of 72 to lead the way for Westminster. Moran was the highest placing freshman in the field, and finished just two strokes back of individual medalist Cary Ignaczak of Pitt-Bradford.

Junior Jonny Stuckert (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills), playing for the Titans A-team, carded a six-over-par, 76 to finish in a tie for seventh place. Junior Connor Chirdon (Cheswick, PA / Deer Lakes) finished one stroke behind Stuckert, as he got around the par-70, 6421-yard layout in 77 strokes. Chirdon’s 77 marked a collegiate career-best for the junior. Senior Avery Andric (Lisbon, OH / Lisbon David Anderson) and freshman Calen Cummins (Allison Park, PA / Hampton) rounded out the top five scores for both teams, posting scores of 78 and 79, respectively.
