AUSTIN, Texas – The Westminster College men's soccer team had a program-record two student-athletes earning College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® as senior forward Nick Iregui (Gig Harbor, WA/Charles Wright Academy) and junior defender Sam Accordino (Canfield, OH/Canfield) both earned the distinguished honor for their performances on the field and in the classroom.
Iregui and Accordino, who both earned Second Team honors, joined defender Chris Ellwanger (2008, Second Team) as the only CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in program history. Last year, Iregui became the program's first ever coaches association scholar All-American with an United Soccer Coaches (USC) Scholar All-America honor.
Iregui, Westminster's all-time leader in both goals and points, earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) First Team recognition for the fourth-straight year. Iregui, a business administration major, earned a grade point average (GPA) of 3.57.
Accordino, a 2020 All-PAC First Team selection, commanded and anchored the Westminster back line. Accordino boasted a GPA of 3.99 as a neuroscience major.
Iregui and Accordino are the first men's soccer players from the PAC to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors since Grove City's Tim Boswell and Brian Eckenhoff in 2011 (contributed by the PAC).
