WOOSTER, Ohio – The Westminster men's soccer team lost, 5-2, on the road to non-conference foe The College of Wooster on Thursday.
Wooster (3-1) was able gain momentum early when Bennett Anderson assisted Max Wiley on the first goal of the game at the 4:37 mark. Westminster (2-2) answered back with a goal by senior Zac Marzula (Wexford, PA / North Allegheny) for the first collegiate goal of his career.
At the 15:21 mark, Luca Napora notched Wooster's second goal of the contest. Later on in the first half, Langston Hood assisted Max Wiley's second goal to make the score 3-1. With three minutes remaining in the first half, Moody Saadi scored (assisted by Caleb King). Wooster maintained a 4-1 lead to intermission.
As the second half was underway, Miles Rochester found the back of the net for Wooster at the 76:06 mark. During the 80th minute, senior Marc Esqueda (San Bruno, CA / Junipero Serra) scored his first goal of the season to make the score 5-2.
Westminster was outshot (21-14) by Wooster. The Titans had seven shots-on-goal and three corner kicks.
The Titans are back in action as they host Carnegie Mellon at home on Saturday, September 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
