Men’s Tennis: Titans Wrap Up Spring Break Trip

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Westminster College men's tennis team concluded their Spring Break Trip with an 8-1 loss, against non-conference opponent Nazareth College on Wednesday in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Westminster (4-4) claimed one singles victory in the No. 1 singles slot courtesy of junior Miguel Ascencio (Venitia, PA / Peters Township) by a score of 6-2, 6-2. Nazareth (4-5) earned the rest of the victories in singles matches and swept the doubles competition.

Westminster will be back in action next Thursday when they take on PAC opponent Geneva at home at 6 p.m..

Singles competition:

1. Miguel Ascencio (WES) def. Nathan Allen (NAZARETH) 6-2, 6-2

2. Tommy Daviau (NAZARETH) def. Alex Georgescu (WES) 6-1, 6-3

3. Dominic Vito (NAZARETH) def. Logan Mannhiermer (WES) 6-4, 6-3

4. Tyler Luong (NAZARETH) def. Jimmy Oberlin (WES) 6-1, 6-1

5. William Britton (NAZARETH) def. Collin Kelly (WES) 6-4, 6-7, 10-8

6. Ryan Lalik (NAZARETH) def. George Oliver (WES) 6-3, 6-3

Doubles competition:

1. Nathan Allen/Tommy Daviau (NAZARETH) def. Miguel Ascencio/Jimmy Oberlin (WES) 8-3

2. William Britton/Tyler Luong (NAZARETH) def. Alex Georgescu/Alec Rich (WES) 8-4

3. Ryan Lalik/Dominic Vito (NAZARETH) def. Logan Mannhiermer/Noah Weiss (WES) 8-5
