GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org)--Geneva College has earned the top seed and hosting rights for this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Championship Tournament.
Geneva concluded its regular season 33-5 overall and 16-2 in league play. It will host the double-elimination tournament Friday and Saturday, May 7-8 at the Bill and Rita Conrady Softball Field in Beaver Falls.
Geneva won its only PAC title in 2012. It has never hosted the PAC Championship Tournament.
The six-team tournament is scheduled to get underway Tuesday, May 4 with a play-in series hosted by No. 4 Washington & Jefferson College. Fifth-seeded Grove City College (14-18, 9-9 PAC) and No. 6 Chatham University (13-19, 8-10 PAC) will travel to W&J's Brooks Park for a 3 p.m. elimination game, with the winner meeting No. 4 W&J (17-14-1, 9-7 PAC) at 5 p.m. The winner will advance to Friday's double-elimination portion of the championship tournament.

The losers of Friday's opening-round matchups will meet in elimination Game E at 2 p.m., followed by the winners of the two opening-round games (Game F) facing off at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, the winner of Game E will meet the loser of Game F in an 11 a.m. elimination game for the right to play for the conference title against the Game F winner at 1 p.m. If both teams have one loss at that point, the "if necessary" game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The PAC Championship Tournament winner will secure the league's automatic qualifying bid (Pool A) to the NCAA Division III Championship, with regional play scheduled for Thursday-Sunday, May 20-23.
