SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Westminster College men's and women's swimming & diving teams traveled to Saint Petersburg, Florida to compete in the St. Pete's Classic Relays on Sunday.
The Titan men finished in fifth place with 64 points, while the women finished in seventh place with 26 points.
For the men, the quartet of senior Matt Kwalick (Sewickley, PA / Quaker Valley), junior Blaine Sorrick (Mantua, OH / Crestwood), sophomore Jacob Musselman (Denver, PA / Cocalico) and freshman Mark Lanterman (Youngstown, OH / Poland Seminary) scored a victory in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:29.24. Kwalick and Musselman also teamed with senior Aaron Dunlany (Boardman, OH / Boardman) and junior Blaine Sorrick (Mantua, OH / Crestwood) to finish fourth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.46. The same quartet also placed fourth in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:17.27.
For the women, seniors Abigail Jones (Cabot, PA / Knoch), Maggie Manolis (Jeannette, PA / Jeannette) and Caitlyn Peace (Darlington, PA / Blackhawk) had Westminster's best finish of the day with an eighth-place finish in the 3x100 breaststroke relay, garnering a time of 3:53.19 in the process.
Westminster will be back in action on Friday, January 10 when it returns home to take on Allegheny College in a non-conference matchup at 3 p.m.
