NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- Westminster College football players volunteered at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lawrence County’s (CAC) annual Thanksgiving food drive on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The players, all part of the football team’s Leadership Council, as well as Westminster Head Football Coach Scott Benzel and Dr. Alison DuBois, director of the Westminster Graduate School and CAC board member, all helped stock laundry baskets full of turkeys and trimmings for more than 75 area families.
“These young men exemplify what being a Titan truly is. They are excellent students, all earned All-PAC honors this season in football, and anytime they are called upon to give back to Westminster or the surrounding community, they give selflessly,” said DuBois.
The CAC, founded in 1989, aims to strengthen families and empower children through collaborations with parents and communities that care. The CAC operates programs out of New Castle, Ellwood City and Sharon.
