GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released the results of its women's and men's indoor track and field preseason coaches' poll on Friday. The Westminster women were picked first in the coaches' poll, while the men were picked fourth.
Westminster, led by 13th-year head coach Tim McNeil, secured the top spot in this year's women's preseason coaches' poll after earning four first-place votes and 81 total points. The Titans won last year's PAC indoor title at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS), finishing with 124 points in the 16-event championship. Westminster totaled five individual event championships and a pair of runner-up finishes. Last year was Westminster's second PAC indoor title (2016). The Titans registered runner-up finishes in 2017 and 2018. Senior Katie Schrantz (New Castle, PA / Neshannock), junior Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) and sophomores Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) and Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) were named to the PAC Women's Track and Field Athletes to Watch list.
On the men's side, the Titans garnered fourth place in the preseason poll after earning 62 total points. Geneva College earned the top spot in the poll with 88 points and seven first place votes. Senior Tim Maxwell (Washington, PA / McGuffey), junior Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) and sophomore Amon Sams (Chantilly, VA / John Champe) were named to the PAC Men's Track and Field Athletes to Watch list.
This year's PAC Championships are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27 and will once again be held at Youngstown State's WATTS. Events are tentatively scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
The NCAA Division III Championships are slated for Friday-Saturday, March 13-14 and will held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The Titans get their season underway on Friday, December 6 when they travel to Youngstown State for the YSU Icebreaker Meet.
