HILTON HEAD, S.C.--The Westminster College women's lacrosse team earned its first victory of the season Wednesday, defeating Concordia University-Wisconsin 12-11 in a wire-to-wire affair.
Five players scored for Westminster.
Junior midfielder Nina Rascona (Somerset, Pa. | Somerset) paced the Titans with a career-high five goals, one assist, one ground ball and a caused turnover. Junior midfielder Samantha Reed (Zionsville, Pa. | Emmaus) finished with four goals, five draw controls and three ground balls. Freshman attack Emma Brazier (Northport, N.Y. | Northport) had two goals, three draw controls and a ground ball. Freshman attack Haley Wenzel (Coppell, Texas | Coppell) finished with one goal, one assist and one ground ball while senior defender Emiley Kushner (Cecil, Pa., Canon-McMillan) added one goal, one ground ball and one caused turnover.
Senior goalkeeper Jaden Domaratz (Springdale, Pa. | Springdale) earned the win in net, finished with six saves and a ground ball in the first half. Sophomore goalkeeper Jade Hromanik (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Shaler) registered 11 second half saves.
Natalie Mackrell led the Falcons with three goals.
Wednesday also marked the first career victory for Westminster first-year head coach Bria Braddock.
Westminster will play Hartford Friday in Hilton Head. The opening draw is scheduled for 10 a.m.
