NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's golf team, under fourth-year Head Coach Matt Torrence, returns six players from last year's team that won the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship for the second-straight year.
Highlighting the returners are sophomores Erika Hoover (New Castle, PA / Wilmington Area) and Kasey Clifford (Longport, NJ / Ocean City). Hoover, an All-PAC First Team selection last year, fired the lowest round in school history with a 74 (+2) at the Westminster Fall Invitational on Sept. 21, 2019. Hoover finished second at the PAC Fall Championships with a two-day score of 172 (85, 87) and led the team with a scoring average of 82.25. Clifford, the 2019-20 PAC Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, won the PAC Individual Championship with a two-day score of 166 (88, 78). Clifford was also an All-PAC First Team pick and was second on the team with a scoring average of 85.88.
Also returning for Westminster are junior Jocelyn Behr (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) and sophomores Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional), Kara Hutchinson (Geneva, OH / Geneva) and Olivia Ledbetter (Tarrs, PA / Southmoreland). Behr was an All-PAC First Team selection in the 2018-19 season and accumulated a scoring average of 94.25 during that year, while Horvath placed 12th at the PAC Championships last year with a two-day score of 201 (102, 99) and had her best round with an 87 (+15) at the Mount Union Fall Invitational on Sept. 8, 2019.
Westminster will get its season underway on Saturday, March 27 in the annual Westminster Fall Invitational, with the players hitting the course at 12 p.m.
