GENEVA, Ohio – The Westminster College men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed at the SPIRE Carnegie Mellon Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Titan women finished ninth with 25 points, while the men finished 13th with 6.17 points.
Titan senior Hailey Hall (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area) captured first-place in the women’s pole vault, registering a 12’0.5 (3.67m) jump. Junior Nicole Cress (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) recorded a personal-best in the 60-meter dash, finishing in seventh-place with a time of 8.39 seconds. First-year Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) ran a time of 2:27.29 in the 800-meter, finishing seventh. Senior Katelynn Morrell (Boardman, OH / Boardman) ran a personal-best 19:14.77 in the 5000-meter, placing fifth. First-year Allison Hampton (Ten Sleep, WY / Ten Sleep) finished fifth in the triple jump (32’2.75″/9.82m) and senior Morgan Widina (Mayfield Heights, OH / Mayfield) placed ninth in the shot put (34’0.5″/10.49m).
For the men, senior Joshua McFall (New Castle, PA / New Castle) placed 19th out of 40 runners in the 800-meter (2:02.09). Junior Jake Kaylor (Export, PA / Greensburg Salem) finished fifth in the 60 meter hurdles (8.96). Sophomore Gino Defeo (Margate, FL / Taravella J. P.) placed tenth in the long jump (19’8.75″/6.01m), while freshman Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) tied for sixth in the high jump (5’11.25″/1.81m).
Westminster will next compete in the Mount Union Invitational Saturday, February 3. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
