NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- Westminster’s Student Government Association (SGA) found a crafty way to bring together members of the campus community and residents and vendors from the New Wilmington area on Saturday.

SGA sponsored it’s first Lakeside Craft Fair at Brittain Lake’s Anderson Amphitheater.   SGA joined with Sodexo Dining Services to host it.

Students Chloe Knappenberger and Chris SGAIsrael spearheaded the fair.

They recruited over 30 vendors selling clothes, antiques, crafts, and furniture.  Sodexo and the Apple Castle set up shop as well adding a little flavor to the event.

PB&JSGA raised money from small registration fees.  Sodexo and the Apple Castle generated proceeds from baked good sales. They donated the money PB&J Backpacking program in New Wilmington.

“We want the vendors to go home with some money in their pockets. We want the shoppers to go home with a gift for themselves or someone they love.”– Chloe Knappenberger, SGA Service Chair

Vendors

Musicians Dan Swank, Natalie Paoletta, and Katie Nicholson performed for the crowd.

Vendors connected with new customers and with each other under the amphitheater canopy.

“The biggest thing we wanted was for the vendors to become known around the campus.”- Chris Israel, SGA Student Concern Chair
