HERMITAGE, Pa. (AP)– Two western Pennsylvania Macy’s will close this year, including the one in Mercer County.
Macy’s at the Shenango Mall in Hermitage is scheduled to shutdown. The chain’s location in the Beaver Valley Mall will also close.
Macy’s announced on Wednesday that it is moving forward with 68 store closures, which are part of the 100 closings it announced in August.
The retailer blames online shopping for a 2.1 percent drop in sales at established stores for the holiday shopping season. The local Macy’s will close in the coming months. Macy’s is eliminating more than 10,000 jobs.
