PITTSBURGH, PA – “I think this is a unique opportunity for the students, Westminster, and UPMC.” Those are the words of Dr. David Farner, who is the Executive Vice President at UPMC and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Westminster.
Farner however, is not the only WC grad at UPMC. As a matter of fact, over 100 grads are employed. The VP wants that number to be tripled in the coming years. The new Nursing Partnership Program between UPMC and Westminster is a romantic love story for students at Westminster to be a part of a nursing program that will allow students to work two academic years at UPMC for future employment opportunities in the future with the growth of the franchise.
The announcement’s atmosphere felt more like a warm alumni gathering. WCN student staff members got to socialize a little bit with some of the grads that told their story about being a student at Westminster. Every story was different, but they all had one thing in common. They were great memories and happy times.
Now students can receive a world class opportunity to work with a world-renowned health care provider in the heart of the Steel City. This is how we continue to make Westminster one of the best liberal arts colleges in the country. This program is just another reason why we put the “WE in Westminster.
