BETHANY, W. Va. – The Westminster College men’s basketball team won, 85-65, at Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Bethany College Wednesday evening.
 
Westminster (5-11, 3-4 PAC) never trailed the entire contest. The Titans led by as much as 16 points (39-23) in the first half, with the latest coming when junior Ricky Roth (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln) made a free throw with 5:38 left. Bethany (1-14, 0-6 PAC) finished the half with an 18-7 run to cut the Titans’ lead to 46-41, which was the halftime-score. The Bison would get within five points of Westminster’s lead early in the second half (48-43), but that would be the closest they would get for the remainder of the game. The Titans outscored Bethany 39-24 in the second half.
 
Titan junior Dylan O’Hara (Girard, OH / Girard) registered game-highs in points (16) and rebounds (7). Three other Titans scored in double-digits in junior Ricky Roth (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln) (14), junior Lloyd Chatman (Columbus, OH / Reynoldsburg) (14), and junior Blake Payne (Ashtabula, OH / Jefferson Area) (13). Roth’s 14 points marked a career-best and he also dished out a game- and career-high six assists. Sophomore Daniel Ritter (North Lima, OH / South Range) added eight points, while brother Anthony Ritter (North Lima, OH / South Range) had seven. Payne and sophomore Isaac Stamatiades (Elkridge, MD / Avalon) each grabbed down six rebounds. Stamatiades also tied a game-high with two blocks. O’Hara and D. Ritter each had a team-high two steals.
 
Westminster outshot Bethany 54.2% (32-59) to 39.3% (24-61) and dominated the glass with a 46-28 rebound advantage. The Titans’ shooting percentage was a season-high and the highest since March 3, 2017 at DeSales (55.0%/33-60).
 
The Titans will host Grove City College Saturday, January 12 at 3:30 p.m.
