PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Titan Athletics)– The Westminster College men’s lacrosse team won, 10-8, on the road against Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Chatham University Saturday afternoon.

Westminster (6-5, 3-1 PAC) started the game by scoring six unanswered goals. Chatham (8-5, 3-2 PAC) scored its first goal with 10 seconds left in the first quarter to bring the score to 6-1 at the end of the first quarter. The Titans added two more goals at the start of the second quarter to take their largest lead of the contest, 8-1, with 8:36 remaining in the first half. At the 6:33 mark, Chatham kicked off its scoring run, registering five goals in less than three minutes to cut the Titan lead to 8-6 at halftime.

Chatham scored the only goal in the third quarter and added another at the beginning of the fourth quarter to tie the game, 8-8. Junior Dante Serra (Center Valley, PA / Southern Lehigh) broke the tie with the go-ahead goal with 6:45 remaining. The Titans added an insurance goal, courtesy of Tyler Nordby (Burnt Hills, NY / Burnt Hills) (2:03), and held Chatham scoreless for the rest of the contest to secure the victory.

Titan freshman Joe Rosa (Newton, NJ / Kittatinny Regional) scored a team-high three goals.  Three Titan juniors added a pair of goals including Serra, Nordby, and junior Chris Slater (Plum, PA / Central Catholic). Serra also tallied an assist in the contest. Sophomore Shane Fisher (Palm Harbor, FL / East Lake) scored a goal and recorded an assist.

Westminster freshman Alexander Hays (Wexford, PA / North Allegheny) led the team with four ground balls. Senior goalkeeper Carter Hall (Zeeland, MI / Zeeland West) recorded 19 saves, tied for his season-high, in the complete-game victory.

The Titans will be in action next on the road against PAC foe Grove City College on Thursday, April 18 at 11:30 AM.
