ALLIANCE, Oh. – The Westminster College men’s soccer team lost to Mount Union on Saturday afternoon in overtime.

The Titans struck first in the 66th minute when junior forward Justin Brandt (Ellicott City, MD / Archbishop Spalding) received a pass from junior midfielder Shane Fallen (Blue Bell, PA / Wissahickon) and found the back of the net. It was Brandt’s first goal of the season and Fallen’s second assist on the year.

Minutes later, Mount Union’s Ramon Bajeca tied the game up at one a piece. The game was tied until the closing seconds of the first overtime, when Mount Union’s Jon Schroeder took a shot off a deflection and scored, giving the Raiders the win.

Titan senior goalkeeper AJ Bove (New Stanton, PA / Hempfield Area) finished the match with 11 saves. Senior midfielder Fedja Smajic finished with two shots, both of which were on goal. The Titans record falls to 2-2-1 on the year.

The Titans next match is at home against Franciscan on September 12. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m.
