BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Westminster College men’s tennis team lost, 6-3, at Geneva College in its Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) opener on Thursday.

Westminster earned its three wins in the singles competition, thanks to freshman Miguel Ascencio (Venitia, PA / Peters Township), senior A.J. May (Butler, PA / Butler), and senior Kornel Foremski (Shaker Heights, OH / Shaker Heights). Ascencio came back and won number one singles, 4-6, 6-1, 10-7. May earned a victory at number three singles, 6-4, 7-6, while Foremski won convincingly at number four singles, 6-1, 6-1.

The Titans dropped to 0-5 overall, while the Golden Tornadoes improved to 10-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Westminster will next host Thomas More College in its Spring home-opener Friday, March 23 at 4 p.m.

1. Alex Beck/Nate Heidengren (GENM) def. Miguel Ascencio/Kornel Foremski (WES) 8-5
2. Ethan Stahl/Eric Abbott (GENM) def. Alex Georgescu/A.J. May (WES) 8-5
