NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men’s tennis team defeated non-conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg, 7-2, on Monday afternoon.

Freshman Miguel Ascencio (Venitia, PA / Peters Township) won at number one singles, 6-1, 6-0. Ascencio has now won three-straight number one singles matches. Senior Kornel Foremski (Shaker Heights, OH / Shaker Heights) won at number four singles, 6-3, 6-0. Foremski also has won three-straight singles matches at the number four slot. Ascencio and Foremski teamed up to win number one doubles, 8-2. Freshman Alex Georgescu (Hermitage, PA / Hickory) was victorious at number two singles (6-1, 6-3), senior A.J. May (Butler, PA / Butler) won at number three singles (6-0, 6-2), and freshman Collin Kelly (McDonald, PA / Canon MacMillan) was victorious at number five singles, 6-2, 6-4. The number two duo of May and Georgescu teamed up to win at number two doubles, 8-3.

Westminster is back in action Wednesday, April 4 on the road at conference foe Bethany College. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
