GROVE CITY, Pa. (Titan Athletics)– The second-seeded Westminster College men’s soccer team won the 2018 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship with a 1-0 shutout over top-seeded Grove City College on the road Saturday afternoon.
 
The PAC Title marks the fifth for Westminster (2015, 2008, 2006, 2002) since becoming eligible for the conference championship in 2002.
 
 
The Titans improve to 14-5 overall, their most wins since the 2008 season (17-6).
 
Titan senior Shane Fallen (Blue Bell, PA / Wissahickon) netted the game-winner at the 23:55 mark for his third goal (second game-winner) on the season. Westminster senior goalkeeper AJ Bove (New Stanton, PA / Hempfield Area) earned a career-high 11 saves for his fifth shutout of the season. The Titan defense also had two team saves in the shutout-effort.
 
Grove City outshot Westminster, 20-4 (13-2 on goal) and had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Wolverines dropped to 14-2-4 overall.
 
With the win, Westminster has received the PAC’s automatic qualifying bid to this year’s NCAA Division III Championship. Team selections for the Division III Championship are scheduled to be announced Monday, November 5 at 1 p.m. (EST) with an online selection show available at ncaa.com. First and second round matchups are scheduled for Friday-Sunday, November 9-11.
