NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Over the past 150 years, the New Castle YMCA has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of local families thanks to the efforts of volunteer leadership. Their commitment to the Y’s core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility, will be honored on September 30, 2017 at a special event hosted by the New Castle Community YMCA.
In celebration of 150 years, the Y is planning an extra-special evening this year. The event will be held at The New Englander with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Guests will also enjoy live music by Pittsburgh party/brass band, Beauty Slap, an exhibit featuring photographs and memorabilia from the New Castle YMCA’s 150 year history, and silent and live auctions.
“The New Castle Community YMCA has impacted so many lives over the past 150 years. We want this event to pay tribute to where we have been, and celebrate where we are going,” said Stephen Vitale, chairman of the event committee. “This year’s event is going to embody the feeling of a traditional Salute to Courage Dinner in the atmosphere of an Anniversary Gala.”
Tickets for the event are $75 per person and may be purchased at the Downtown YMCA. Sponsorship opportunities are also available; interested businesses may contact Maureen Knepshield, at (724) 658-4766 for more information.
