New Visions for Lawrence County is announcing their role as coordinators of this annual holiday tradition.  The nonprofit organization is assuming these responsibilities from the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, who held that position for many years.  “It is nice to work with a partner (the Chamber) through this transition of leadership, who knows the ins and outs of the parade.  But we are also excited to add some fresh elements that will offer a new energy for this community tradition,” says Angie Urban, New Visions’ Executive Director.

A new addition to the parade this year, includes several giant balloons that will float through the streets of New Castle.  Toni McKay and her Starbound Entertainment business which are located in Neshannock will be featured in this year’s parade.  Her company creates, manufactures, and floats balloons in parades all over the world.  “We are thrilled to be working with Toni to highlight her local business.  We are working with her to create a one-of-a-kind balloon that will celebrate New Castle’s ‘Fireworks Capital of America’ title, as well as, float a few others”, says Urban.  “It will be a visual treat for spectators of all ages.”

Participants are encouraged to return their registration forms by Friday, November 3rd to ensure their spot in the parade.  Volunteers who are interested in helping plan the event, help the night of the event, or financially support the event, are also encouraged to be in touch with New Visions.
