CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Westminster College men’s and women’s track & field teams opened their outdoor season at the Charleston Southern University’s two-day Spring Break Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

For the men’s team, junior Jaevon Hardy (Waldorf, MD / North Point) won the 200 with a time of 21.94 and placed sixth in the 100 (10.86). Junior Gideon Coleman (Knox, PA / Keystone) placed 22nd in the 400 (52.10), while senior Billy Trott (Transfer, PA / Reynolds) finished 25th in the long jump (5.59m).

For the women’s team, senior Cassidy Shepherd (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg-Salem) placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 9.75 inches (3.65m). Senior Keilah Ireland (Nashua, NH / Nashua North) placed 20th in the 400 hurdles (1:11.13), while sophomore Nicole Cress (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) placed 28th in the 200 (26.64).

Westminster is back in action on Saturday, April 1 at Carnegie Mellon’s Quad Meet.
