ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Police say a caretaker for two Pennsylvania group homes choked a disabled man and hit other residents who had mental and physical disabilities.
Antonio Montoya is facing multiple charges, including neglect of care of a dependent person, strangulation and simple assault.
Prosecutors say the 33-year-old Allentown man abused the adults while working as a caretaker for the Philadelphia-based Resources for Human Development at group homes in Freemansburg and Bethlehem Township.
One victim told police Montoya choked him until his face turned blue, and two other victims said he would hit them in the head and punch them.
Montoya was arrested Thursday and ordered held on $100,000 bail. Court records do not list an attorney for him.
RHD said Wednesday he no longer works with the nonprofit organization.
