LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College softball team split a Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader at Saint Vincent College on Thursday.

The Titans won game one, 7-2, however lost, 2-1, in the second game. The game two loss snapped a 13-game winning streak for Westminster.

In game one, Westminster (21-7, 9-1 PAC) led 7-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. Senior Emily Lindsey (Freeport, PA / Freeport) scored the first three runs in the first inning with a three-run triple; junior Jazmyn Rohrer (Purcellville, VA / Woodgrove), junior Courtney Cohen (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington), and sophomore Kailey Liverman (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) all scored. The Titans added three more runs in the fifth; junior Addie Dieterich (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) brought home sophomore Cheyenne Shifflett (Etters, PA / Trinity) with a sacrifice fly, followed by Lindsey and Rohrer scoring on a Saint Vincent error. Rohrer scored the last Titan run in the sixth inning with an RBI-single, bringing home Liverman. Saint Vincent (13-11, 6-4 PAC) spoiled the shutout with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Rohrer pitched a complete game, while improving to 12-0. She gave up two runs on four hits, while striking out seven and walking two.

In the second game, Saint Vincent scored first in the third inning, after Shelby Noel earned an RBI-walk. Rohrer tied the game, 1-1, with an RBI-double in the sixth, scoring junior Hannah Ritter (Front Royal, VA / Skyline). The Bearcats sealed the win with a walk-off single by Kelly Flaherty in the bottom of the seventh. First-year pitcher Kayla Troxil (Canfield, OH / Canfield) started the game and pitched 5.1 innings, while giving up one run on four hits. She struck out two and walked the same. Rohrer went to 12-1 on the year after coming in for relief in the sixth inning. She gave up one run on two hits.

The Titans will next play at Waynesburg University in a PAC doubleheader on Wednesday, April 19. Game one is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
