NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.– More than 90 people gathered in Westminster’s Mueller Theater to screen five short films produced by students in the Digital Moviemaking course this semester (BC 112).  The screening was one of the many presentations and performances at the 2018 Undergraduate Research and Arts Celebration (URAC).

For the Lost Films of Titan Terror, five teams participated in a two-week project.  Each team produced a film no longer than five minutes, and all were required to situate their stories under the suspense and thriller themes of the Titan Terror Project.

The audience selected the winner of this LOST FILMS screening.  First-place went to “The Hookup” by Stephen Wells, Linzy Borowicz, Dwayne Brown, Evan Vent (Frowny Face Films).

The other teams showcasing productions included:

  • “Found Footage: PA” created by Shelia Fizer and Kayla Ammons (LaLa Films).
  • Tyler Helvin and Jaclyn Blegging premiered “SMILES.”
  • “The Lost Souls” produced by Natalie Fox, Sam Craig, Anthony Goldman, and Nick Ryan (TBD Productions).
  • Jace Armentrout, Dan Jackson, Tyler Boston, and Danny Mercer (Stump Studios) produced “Your Choice.”

The URAC is a day-long event showcasing the collaborative work between Westminster faculty and students. Often interdisciplinary in nature, presentations take the form of posters, oral presentations, video productions, art studio pieces, poetry readings, live musical performances, and more.

The Celebration is a dynamic and exciting opportunity to experience Westminster’s rich academic environment. During URAC, Westminster suspends classes, and nearly one out of every four students will present. Sessions are attended by faculty, current students, parents, and occasionally alumni and members of our Board of Trustees.
