NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- Westminster students collaborated with the New Castle School of Trade students to weld together a trailer for the Tiny House Project.
The trailer was built from the ground up by the trade students. They used what they have learned in the classroom for this real life project. They were able to take all their welding skills into this project and show off their talents.
“After they were done building we went and had a painting party, if you will,” said Danny Owoc.
The last step for the trailer was painting it. Check out the time lapse video courtesy the of Tiny House crew.
The painting party took place at the School of Trade on Sept. 12. That’s where 8 Westminster students and community volunteers worked with the trade school students. According to organizers, the job required them to begin with a coat of special base paint that will prevent rust. It took volunteers about 2 hours to paint the entire rig.
Tiny House Project leaders have yet to announce a timetable for construction of the structure. Officials indicated that they’re still hammering out the details.
