German gymnastics coach removed after bullying investigation

  • 0

CHEMNITZ, Germany (AP) — A decorated German gymnastics coach has been removed from her post at an Olympic training center after an investigation found she had mistreated athletes. Training center head Thomas Weise tells the dpa news agency that coach Gabriele Frehse no longer works there. Current and former gymnasts accused Frehse of intimidating and bullying athletes in an investigation by news outlet Der Spiegel last year. A German Gymnastics Union investigation was heavily critical of Frehse and the organization's board recommended she be fired from the training center.
