GETTYSBURG, Pa. (Titan Athletics)– The Westminster College women’s lacrosse team lost, 24-1, to No. 1-nationally ranked Gettysburg College in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.
 
Titan first-year goalkeeper Emma Bradley (South Fayette, PA / South Fayette) collected 11 saves, the second most of her career, and had a ground ball in a complete-game effort. Sophomore Marisa Keller (Canonsburg, PA / Canon-McMillan) led the Titan defense with four ground balls. Junior Margo Mason (Pittsburgh, PA / Chartiers Valley) and first-year Magen Polczynski (Irwin, PA / Norwin) added three and two ground balls, respectively. Mason and Polczynski each had a caused turnover. Junior Bria Braddock (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) earned a team-high two draw controls. Mason and senior Emily D’Amico (Moon Township, PA / Moon Area) had one draw control apiece.
 
Gettysburg (18-1) scored two quick goals to open up the game, courtesy of Lauren Cole (29:09) and Steph Colson (28:41).
 
Titan junior Michaela Hays (Blairsville, PA / Blairsville) scored Westminster’s goal, cutting the Bullets’ lead to 2-1 with 27:11 on the clock. Hays concludes the year with 26 goals on the year. Gettysburg scored 15 unanswered to finish out the half with a 17-1 halftime lead. The Bullets added seven more goals in the second half.
 
Westminster, in only its third year of existence, secured the inaugural Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament title in its first ever post-season run. The Titans’ three losses came against Division II Ohio Valley, regionally-ranked Wooster, and the back-to-back National Champion Gettysburg. The Titans concluded the season 15-3 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the PAC.
