GENEVA, Ohio. – The Westminster College men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams completed day two of the two-day SPIRE Midwest Indoor Invitational on Saturday.

For the Titan women, first-year Megan Parker (Mercer, PA / Mercer Area) finished 16th out of 47 participants in the weight throw, throwing a distance of 41 feet, 5 inches (12.62 meters). Senior teammate Morgan Widina (Mayfield Heights, OH / Mayfield) finished 23rd (39′ 4″/11.99m). Widina also competed in the shot put, where she threw distance of 35 feet, 6 inches (10.83 m.), good for 20thplace out of 50 competitors. Senior Hailey Hall (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area) finished tied for seventh in the pole vault with a jump of 11 feet, 6½ inches (3.52 m.).

Freshman James Kendall (Willoughby, OH / Willoughby South) was the top finisher for the Westminster men, finishing 20th in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 2 inches (12.85 m.).

On Friday, senior Katelynn Morrell (Boardman, OH / Boardman) broke the 5,000-meter run school record as she finished 17th out of 39 runners with a time of 18:57.14.

Westminster is back in action Saturday, February 3 as it participates in the Mount Union Invitational. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
