GREENVILLE, Pa. (Titan Athletics) – Friday’s Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Volleyball Championship Tournament Semifinals will feature top-seeded Westminster College (29-2) taking on fourth-seeded Geneva College (19-11) at 6 p.m., followed by second-seeded Washington & Jefferson College (18-9) facing third-seeded Bethany College (20-9) at 8 p.m. All matches will take place at Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
Westminster, led by 26th-year head coach Tammy Swearingen, earned the top seed and hosting rights for the semifinal and championship rounds of this year’s tournament after posting a 15-1 PAC regular season record. The Titans have won three PAC titles (2002, 2007-08) since becoming eligible for the conference championship in 2002. Westminster last claimed the tournament’s top seed in 2008 and has earned a spot in the championship tournament each year since. The Titans played in the tournament’s title match in 2017.
The championship match is set for Saturday at 4 p.m. at Westminster’s Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
Admission for all PAC Championship events is $5 for adults and $2 for students. PAC and institutional passes are not accepted at PAC Championship events. Students from PAC institutions will be admitted for free to events being hosted by their school with valid college identification.
Team selections for the Division III Championship are scheduled to be announced Monday, November 5 at 12:30 p.m. (EST) with an online selection show available at ncaa.com. First round action is slated will get underway Thursday-Friday, November 8-9.
Saint Vincent College and SportsPITTSBURGH, the sports development division of VisitPITTSBURGH, will host the quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds of this year’s Division III Championship, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, November 15-17, at Duquesne University’s A.J. Palumbo Center.
