NEW WILMINGTON, Pa— Westminster College graduate Garry Gates was among the people who survived the sniper rampage by Stephen Paddock from a hotel window of the 32nd floor at Mandalay Bay Hotel at Route 91 outdoor concert in Las Vegas in October 2017.
He was near the stage when the shooter began the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. The massacre left 59 people dead and 527 more injured.
Gates is a Las Vegas area resident and works for PokerStars as a Senior Consultant of Player Affairs. PokerStars is the largest online gaming poker website in the world. He and his friends, along with some strangers, were among the thousands of terrified survivors fleeing for cover.
Gates shared his story of his first-hand experience that night with WCN’s Terrell Cleckley in a highly personal and raw interview via Facetime.
