NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Titan Athletics)– The Westminster College volleyball team won both of its matches against Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) foes at its home tri-match on Saturday.

The Titans topped previously undefeated Grove City College and the defending PAC Champions, Bethany College (WV).
 
Westminster improved its record to 10-1 and 2-0 in the PAC with the pair of wins.
 
Against Grove City (5-2, 0-2 PAC), the Titans snagged the first two sets of the match by the same score of 25-20 to take a 2-0 match lead. Despite being down 7-0 in the third set, Grove City rallied to steal the set by a score of 27-25. In the fourth set, tied at 20-20, the Titans rallied off four of the next five points to win the set 25-21, thus winning the match by a final score of 3-1. Sophomore Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) led with a team-high 13 kills, while senior Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) and sophomore Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) slammed home nine kills each. DeGeorge also notched a match-high 25 digs and senior Josie Toporcer (Warren, OH / Lordstown) tallied 24 digs herself. Sophomore Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) dished out a team-high 23 assists, while junior Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) tallied 15 assists of her own.
 
Against Bethany (4-6, 1-1 PAC), the Titans dominated from the first set onward, as they shut out the reigning PAC Champions by scores of 25-9, 25-17, and 25-17 to claim the 3-0 victory. Adelman led the way for Westminster with a match-high 10 kills, while DeGeorge had nine kills of her own. Kelly and Moore totaled 15 and 11 assists, respectively. Toporcer notched a match-high 22 digs in the victory.
 
Westminster will be back on the court on Tuesday, September 17 when it hosts Hilbert College (NY) at 7 p.m.
