NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.– The New Wilmington Area School District has named a new football coach for Wilmington Area High School.  The Board has  hired Brandon Phillian to head the Greyhound football squad.

The 31-year old mathematics teacher takes over from Terry Verrelli who recently retired after a 40-year coaching career.

The Greyhounds wrapped up the final season under Verrelli with an appearance in the PIAA Class AA state championship game last December.

For the past six season, Phillian has served as Wilmington’s defensive coordinator and before that five years as an assistant coach.
