NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- The day after the Presidential Election there was a lot of raw feelings here at Westminster College. Some students were walking around proud and happy, others looked very sad and disgusted.
Justin Wilson went around campus to capture some the student’s raw emotions and to gather some insight on how different people are reacting to the election results.
Students who had voted for trump were more open to speaking about how they feel. Even though most of them looked very tired from staying up all night due to how long the election took. Here is was one Trump supporting student had to say.
“I am very happy; I think there is a chance for this country once again. To fight the evil corrupt politicians that are destroying this nation and trying to hand over all of our sovereignty and Independence to international bodies. So yeah I think Trump is going to turn that around and fight for the common man once again.”
-Jacob Slapinski, First- year Baseball player
Students who had voted for Hillary Clinton were more quiet and had very little to say. Some were too emotional to be on camera or even give a quote. This is what one Hillary Clinton supporting student had to say.
“Honestly, I am kinda scared and as a woman I am offended.”
-Hannah Anderson, Senior
Some students really didn’t even seem to care about the election. They just went about their day just like any other day.
“To be Honest I woke up just Like any other day, The exact same way. I’m not a fan of either the major to political party’s candidates. However, the important thing is that we are still Americans.”
