NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.– There’s a major contrast between the flu outbreak in Pennsylvania and the cases of flu on the Westminster campus.
As of Feb. 24, the Pennsylvania Health Department reports 150 flu related death’s in the state for the current flu season.
However, at Westminster, officials at the Student Health Center say they haven’t treated a single case. Health Center Director Melissa Baron says that doesn’t mean some students haven’t suffered from the virus this semester. And she stresses the best ways to avoid the flu are good handwashing practices and getting the flu shot.
