Tim Kaiser (’85) currently produces the reboot of NBC’s “Will & Grace.”

NEW WILMINGTON, PA (WC)– Westminster College President Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson announced today that two-time Emmy Award-winning producer Tim Kaiser will receive an honorary Doctor of Letters degree at the college’s 165th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11.

Kaiser’s work on the long-running popular NBC sitcoms “Seinfeld” and “Will & Grace” earned him two Emmys, as well as 10 Emmy nominations. Kaiser, 1985 alumnus of Westminster, also executive produced “2 Broke Girls” and the current reboot of “Will & Grace.”

“We are proud to recognize Mr. Kaiser’s creative vision and talent by awarding this honorary degree,” Richardson said. “He has represented Westminster well through his years of award-winning work and his life of integrity and leadership. He continues to serve as an eloquent proponent of the value of a liberal arts education.”

Following his graduation from Westminster, Kaiser, a native of Oakmont, Pa., worked in public television. The public television format was a familiar format to Kaiser; his father, Lloyd Kaiser, was longtime president of the Pittsburgh public broadcasting station WQED.

Kaiser currently divides his time between Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.

Westminster’s spring commencement exercises will be held at 1 p.m. on the Weisel Senior Terrace outside of Old Main. A 10:30 a.m. baccalaureate service will be held in the Will W. Orr Auditorium.
