NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Titan Athletics) – The Westminster College women’s lacrosse team won, 15-11, over the Ursuline College Arrows at home Tuesday night.

Ursuline (3-6) started off the scoring with two early goals to take a 2-0 lead with about 20 minutes left in the half. Westminster (6-2) got on the scoreboard with a goal from senior Emily D’Amico (Moon Township, PA / Moon Area), then shortly after tied the game at 2-2 with a goal from junior Margo Mason (Pittsburgh, PA / Chartiers Valley) with less than 13 minutes remaining. First-year Magen Polczynski (Irwin, PA / Norwin) broke the tie with less than 12 minutes left in the half to give the Titans their first lead of the game, 3-2. The Arrows tied the game 3-3 with about 10 minutes remaining in the half; however, the Titans closed the half with a 6-2 run to bring the score to 9-5.
In the second half, the Arrows started off strong with a 5-1 run to tie the score, 10-10, with 17:27 left to play. Junior Bria Braddock (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) broke the tie with a goal to put the Titans up 11-10 with 13:24 remaining. The Titans held their lead for the rest of the contest and outscored the Arrows, 4-1.
Mason scored a game-high six goals, bringing her season total and team-high to 44. She also added six ground balls. Braddock finished with four goals, an assist, and seven ground balls. D’Amico tallied three goals and an assist. Polczynski added two goals, her first multi-goal performance of her career. Junior Michaela Hays (Blairsville, PA / Blairsville) led the Titans with two assists. Senior Emily Irvine (Cheswick, PA / Deer Lakes) also finished with an assist, the first of her career. First-year goalkeeper Emma Bradley (South Fayette, PA / South Fayette) totaled eight saves and a game-high eight ground balls in the victory.
The Titans will next be in action on the road against PAC foe Thiel College Friday, April 5 at 5 p.m.
