HIRAM, Ohio –  The Westminster College women’s soccer team concluded the Hiram College Tournament with a 2-0 victory over host school Hiram.

Sophomore Kaelyn Puhalla (Youngstown, OH / Austintown-Fitch) scored the first goal for the Titans in the 23rd minute. First-year Skylar Bryant (Boardman, OH / Boardman) gave Puhalla a magnificent through ball up the middle of the field and Puhalla connected with the back of the net with one touch.

In the closing minutes of the game, senior Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) sent a cross to the far post where Titan sophomore forward Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) took a touch and scored to seal the deal for the Titans.

Titan senior goalie Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) had a save in the 77th minute, as she stopped Hiram’s Hannah Ward from tying the game. Page finished with three saves in a complete game shutout.

Westminster outshot Hiram, 13-6. Eight of the 13 shots by the Titans were on goal.

The Titans’ (2-0-0) next game will be at home against Penn State Altoona (1-1-0) on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:30 p.m.
