NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women’s soccer team lost at home to Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Grove City College, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Westminster dropped to 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the PAC, while Grove City improved to 14-4 overall and 8-1 in the conference.

The Wolverines scored the lone goal in the sixth minute off the foot of Lindsay Hutton.

Titan junior Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) led the team in shots with two, one of which was on goal. Titan first-year Regan Moorhouse (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) tallied one shot and one shot on goal, while first-year Bailey Kurdys (Toledo, OH / Whitmer) and sophomore Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) finished with one shot each.

Senior goalkeeper Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) finished with nine saves in 90 minutes of work. Page’s ninth save of the afternoon made her third all time in school history with 291 career saves.

Grove City outshot Westminster, 24-5, and also led in corner kicks, 11-6.

Prior to the match, Westminster recognized seniors Melissa Thomas (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard), Devin Furness (Fayetteville, PA / Chambersburg), and Page for Senior Day.
