NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women’s soccer team won, 4-0, at home against Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Saint Vincent College Saturday evening.

The Titans improved to 9-5 overall and 4-1 in the PAC, while the Bearcats dropped to 1-11-1 overall and 1-4-0 in league play.

First-year Alexandria Applin (Beavercreek Township, OH / Beavercreek) netted the first Titan goal at the 19:04 mark in the first half with a shot from 15 yards out. Sophomore Kaelyn Puhalla (Youngstown, OH / Austintown-Fitch) put the Titans ahead 2-0 with a goal in the 40th minute after two dribbles and taking a shot just inside the 18-yard box. The Titans led 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half, first-year Regan Moorhouse (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) put the Titans in front 3-0 after heading in a corner kick by junior Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) at the 52:50 mark. Birsic added a goal of her own five minutes later with a shot from 25 yards out.

Titan senior goalkeeper Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned the win as she collected two saves in 80:41 minutes of work.

The Titans outshot the Bearcats, 19-6, including 12-3 on goal. Westminster also held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The Titans are back in action Wednesday, Oct. 18 at home against Bethany College at 3:30 pm.
